Stable Roster

Chief Energy

Sex: Colt

Sire: Ghostzapper

Dam: Blissful Kiss (Kissin Kris)

Record: 10-1-2-2, $58,457

Description:

Chief Energy is a gallant-looking colt, who showed immense talent in breaking his maiden at Monmouth Park by five lengths as a two-year-old. Chief required minor throat surgery after a big effort in the 2012 Tampa Bay Derby, and was sidelined for part of 2012 as a result. However, he has started his 2013 campaign in style, finishing on the board in back-to-back allowance races. He figures to be highly competitive on the Mid-Atlantic circuit throughout the year, as his home base has switched from Belmont Park to Fair Hill.

Spiral Stair

Sex: Gelding

Sire: El Corredor

Dam: Kerlicue (IRE) (Imperial Ballet)

Record: 1-0-0-0, $420

Description:

Spiral Stair was purchased out of the OBS juvenile auction in 2012 after displaying tremendous athleticism in his public workout in advance of the sale. His fast breeze time was made even more noteworthy by the ease with which he appeared to travel, and as a result, he became a “must have” for the Ninety North roster. Spiral Stair is expected to contest races in the mid-Atlantic and in New York going shorter distances on grass.

Upswell

Sex: Gelding

Sire: Stormy Atlantic

Dam: Rich City Girl (Carson City)

Record: 1-0-0-0, $800

Description:

Upswell, whose name was chosen as the winning submission in a naming competition last year, is a fast son of Stormy Atlantic. He is also out of a Carson City mare, a potent crossing of sire-lines that has yielded an abnormally high percentage of stakes winners when tried. Upswell made his debut in the summer of 2012 at Saratoga, and should be able to put his ability on display later this year when he gets a chance to switch to the turf for the first time.

Lisvernane

Sex: Mare

Sire: Arch

Dam: Owenahincha (Distant View)

Record: 6-0-1-1, $69,695, Stakes Placed

Description:

“Liz” was purchased in January of 2013 with a stakes-placing to her name but no career victories. She’s a daughter of very popular broodmare-sire and strong turf influence, Arch, and should hold her value nicely as a breeding prospect when her racing career is completed. In the meantime, though, she made her Ninety North debut at Gulfstream Park in March and was beaten just three lengths in a maiden special weight after a two-year layoff. She figures to improve significantly, and will hopefully be a force on the mid-Atlantic circuit this year.
