Imagine that you have just purchased an interest in a Ninety North thoroughbred racehorse. What now? Well, here is what a day in the life of a Ninety North partner may look like.
Catch the sunrise out at the barn and watch your horses train right in front of you. Every morning, all thoroughbreds in training participate in some level of exercise. From jogging to galloping to breezing, the morning means that every horse in the barn is on the track and in motion. Whether your horse is at our facility in Fair Hill, training in the peace and quiet of one of the most beautiful settings in the country, or at Belmont Park, training among the many other championship-caliber thoroughbreds that exercise each day, you will see your horse in the middle of it all.
Stop by the barn in the afternoon and see your horses in their stalls. Ninety North is proud to offer its partners the opportunity to visit whenever they’d like (just give us a heads up)! Our trainer and staff are among the friendliest around, and you should feel comfortable stopping by to feed your favorite horse a carrot or a sugar cube. This is a particularly great experience for families who should feel free to bring the kids and join us. We will also be happy to talk horses with you when you stop by.
Have a horse running today? Great! We will do our best to make the day an enjoyable one from beginning to end. We will work with the tracks to get seating for partners who wish to attend, and you can be sure a representative from Ninety North will be around the track on race-day to guide you through the experience. Head into the paddock before your horse races. Here, you can meet other partners and even the jockey for today’s race. Naturally, you’ll all have your Ninety North logo merchandise if you choose to wear it, so you’ll have no problem finding each other. While in the paddock, you will likely hear either our trainer or assistant trainer giving the jockey his instructions for that day’s race, so you’ll be right there as the plan for the race is formulated.
Did your horse just win? Even better! There are few feelings in the world better than watching a horse that you own win a race. Don’t celebrate too long, though, or you’ll miss the winner’s circle photo. Join the rest of the partners and head down to get your picture taken with the horse. You’ll receive a copy of this photo later to remember the exciting victory.
All of the above is what can happen on any day when you’re a member of one of our partnerships. We will also set up opportunities to experience some of the other aspects of the racing business, such as attending auctions or visiting horse farms where you can get up close and personal with horses of all ages.
We hope that you’ll give Ninety North a try, and you can turn the story in these paragraphs into a real-life experience for you and your family!
